    Mego-esque Day At The Store

Met up with a another Museum member at Midtown Comics yesterday at the toy section upstairs. They have a wall full of modern toys, Marvel Legends, DC Universe, Minimates, etc. I was delighted to see a good portion of the wall was covered with modern versions of Megos. I was really exctied to see most of the Twilight Zone figures up there, minling with a healthy selection of BBP Venture Brothers. They were joined by Wave 1 and 2 Mattel Retro Heroes, some Emce Treks, a few Apes and one or two of those figures whose name I can't remember (sorry, he wears a white outfit with a white head-piece/helmet. Maybe based on an indy character).

It wasn't quite the shelves at Kiddie City but it was still pretty cool!
    WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

I can only dream of gazing upon such sweetness. Any pics possible of this?

Funny. I saw that same cheapo figure in white with white helmet, but just couldn't pull trigger at $12. He's definitely a Buck Rogers ripoff. I might pick him just to compare with ZICA's Buck. It would be fun to compare the two.

The figure in white is called John Horus - he was from an indy comic
published by Avatar Press. The publisher was a big mego fan and
wanted to make a figure to sell at San Diego Comicon.

Unfortunately he didn't have the time or budget to tool the helmet
or make the costume in China so I had to hand make 750 of them.

I was very disappointed in the final product but it made me realize
how much effort was required to make over 500 figures by hand.
