    Hulk's wrists and ankles

    I've always wondered about this...
The 8" and 12" Hulks have wrists and ankles that aren't bendable/poseable, however my 12" Spidey does. I've never owned the Thing, but aren't they from the same mold? I looked at a picture on ebay but couldn't tell.
    thanks

Hulk and Thing have ALMOST the same body. The only difference is the color and Thing has rock texture on his hands. Besides the hands the rest of those two bodies could be from the same mold.

      Thanks, Dave Mc.
Do you know why the hands and elbows aren't poseable, and are the things wrists and ankles poseable?

The Joint connecting system would be large ,require alot special tooling/molds, It was cheaper just to cast the closed fist hands/forearms and feet/calf as one ,since the hulk and Thing seems to punch everything in sight, it was a good move.

The elbows are poseable, just the wrists and ankles are not.

In the end, who knows why Mego did anything the way they did, but Rich is probably pretty close to the mark. They probably didn't feel like putting too much into retooling.

The Thing and Hulk always seemed to have a problem with arm and knee pins breaking, or maybe that's just mine.

The size and design of the joints is irrelevant. As long as they differed from existing parts, they had to have new molds.

Adding joints at the wrists and ankles would've required seven additional unique molds, and then all of those parts would've had to be assembled by hand. For a body they didn't plan to use much, it wasn't worth it.

                  2 fists
                  1 wrist swivel (+ 1 duplicate)
                  1 wrist pin (+ 1 duplicate)
                  2 feet
                  1 ankle pin (+ 1 duplicate)
