For me, it wasn't a Mego figure, but rather a Mego item. An original Mego item... MY original Mego item: Batman's removable cowl.
I gave it to a friend back in the day (late seventies.) He wanted to to make a cowl for his Capt. America Mego and thought it would be perfect.
Now, I don't really regret giving that to him, I was glad to do it. He was my best friend. And if I had the chance to do all over again, I still would've given to him. 'Sides,I've replaced it with an Ebay win and even got a few extra repros from Doc Mego, so it's all good.
Still..., it would've been neat to pull that one out of a drawer, and think back to my youthful Mego days. It was the only thing I had of that original figure and Batman was my first Mego, after all.

Back when I closed up my shop in 2000, I wound up selling off more than 50% of my carded Megos and a couple of boxed 12" heroes, and sold them for way less than their worth. Between the store closing and my divorce at that time, I just needed every penny I could get. I regret it now, because in retrospect I think there were other things I could've sold off instead that would've been MUCH easier to replace later on.

^^^^ Don't feel bad or alone. Many items that were non-Mego went to the chopping block during my divorce. I feel your pain bro......Anderson

I miss my CAH Fortress of Solitude, too.
I'm determined to find another one some day.
