The Mego you didn't want to sell...

I know that most of us buy, sell and trade our Megos (and other toys from our collection). A lot of stuff has left my place in the last year and I'm glad to have finally moved most of it out of here (duplicate pieces, pieces that I picked up with lots, pieces that I have no idea what motivated me to buy in the first place). However, this week I sold one of the more rare Megos from my collection and felt sad to see it go. I really didn't expect to feel so down about it. The reason that I sold is simple: money. I got a good offer on it and even though I'd hoped to get more, I thought it was good enough to sell the piece.

Anyway, the reason for my post is I wondered if any of you guys have run into similar situations; a trade or sale that you felt bad about (not because of the person you were dealing with, but because you didn't really want to let the piece go.)
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Window boxed Mummy, I talked myself into letting go with thoughts of "you'll never find the other three". I'm a genius.

Popy Battle Kenya MIB, Popy Battle Cosack MIB, three hero popys MIB, Dinah-mite Don MIB... but my wife has been out of work since last November, and we needed the money. The Popys went to two great guys, so at least I know they'll have a good home!

I loved the Window Boxed Mummy, i never guest it was so rare. For me it would have to be the GW Shark, I got a nice one from Vinny with working propeller.

It isn't, technically it should be the easiest but I haven't seen one in years.

^ Me, I'm still buying, too.

I've traded some vintage WGSH boxes I probably should have kept, though...

Only figure I regret selling isn't a Mego...it's a prototype Romba figure from the Return of the Jedi line. I had 2 of them...sold the first and traded the second one for a Mego figure. I found them at an antique store in a basket of figures.

My biggest regret is something non-mego and I still think I must have been temporarily insane. Desperate for cash I sold some of childhood Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi figures to a dealer. While many years later I was able to reclaim two due to telltale markings the rest were gone or I couldn't find them. Also sold my large size R2-D2 which I had no way to distinguish so I didn't even try. I would part with everything I've purchased as an adult if I could have those back.

Mine's not that huge, but sometimes I wish I still had the first boxed Dinah Mite I got. I sold it with some other stuff for quick cash, then found out that the packaging was unusual - instead of wires or twisties securing her to a cardboard insert(you could take her off the card, then put her back, good as new), she was in a sealed blister inside the box. So you knew that this one was truly never removed from the box. Unfortunately, I didn't realize there was a difference at the time. If I saw another one, I'd like to pick it up.
