Found some "Mego's" in the wild today

    Hey Gang,
So I go to a flea market today and find 5 Star Trek Mego's (2 McCoy's a Kirk, Spock and Scotty) so Im looking them over and they have all EMCE cloths on them and the heads were pretty worn. The owner comes up to me and tells me they are the original owner and they had them since they were a kid and they show me the back of the necks so they are original and highly collectable. So I listen to the sellers hype then I throw down the hammer. I say well I can tell you straight away that the shirts are retro and she looks at me and says "What do you mean" So I told her before I even got a real close look I could tell that they are EMCE shirts by the size of the insignia on the shirts and again she trys to show me the back of the heads then I pick up the Scotty cause he had the redish tan face and asked her to show me the Mego stamp on the back of his neck at that point she said well there $10 each so I told her she could keep them. I dont think she had a clue that she would be called out on the authenticity of them at a flea market out in the sticks. GRRRRRRR. I did however find a original red suit Eviil Kanevil and a Batman puzzle that came in a can from 1974 I picked both up for $5.00. So I guess it wasent a complete waste of time.

Got to give the credit to being here at the Museum and being on board with the EMCE stuff from the gate. I just hate to think someone may have got taken advantage of in the end

While it's not cool if she was trying to pass them off as 100% authentic, if the bodies on the original figures were in decent shape, I don't think $10.00 each is too bad... I mean if you bought an original (loose, nude) Mego TREK body and an EMCE replacement outfit from Dr. Mego, when you add it up it'd run you over $10.00 per body...

Im pretty sure most were heades on emce bodies with emce cloths on them and like i said the heads were pretty ruff I may have given them a closer look if I didnt feel I was being scamed by the descriptions of them being original and her being the original owner
