I may have to get tickets now....just looked at their updated list of comic book guests...Mike Grell, Trevor Von Eeden, Herb Trimpe, and Bob Wiacek. The thing that really sucks is that the Javitz chow is the following week, and I wasn't planning on attending...until I confirmed with Art that he was going to be at the show and now that added George Perez to the list. Better start saving now cause it's going to be an expensive 2 weeks. The Big Apple show is affordable...but I think the Javitz show has gotten out of hand with ticket prices. $40 for a one day pass on Saturday is just absurd.

I'm from south east, TX.... I can't afford to buy Air Plane ticket, because NYC is too far away from my house.

I agree, The apple con was at the pier last year , it was nice & bigger the problem , its middle of no where, no food selection, and its hike to anywhere Javits the same problem and is pricey.

Already booked for NYCC. True - NYCC's getting to be a bit SDCC in scale, but you just can't say no to the comic creators lineup they have. They had me at John Romita, Sr. Plus you know that Art and EMCE will be there, as well as a bunch of friends, so how do you not go?

This will be my wife's first Con in, well, ever, and she's not really a comic fan, or a gamer, or a fan girl. So I'll be interested to see how long she'll be interested.

This years show is at the Penn Plaza Pavillion and IMHO has a better artist/writer list than the NYCC. If you are into the Silver Age guys than the Big Apple Show may warrant a visit. They just added Murphy Anderson to the list. And I think it's about $15 cheaper to get into than the NYCC show. Right across from MSG too:

Not trying to bash the NYCC show...but they also had a George Perez cancellation. I looked at the list of artist alley guests...and I don't even know about 85% of them. Must be getting old. Although, I'd have to say if you haven't met Joe Kubert or Romita Sr. then you should definitely try to get to the NYCC show. BTW, Art (MegoMilk) will be there...but his name isn't on the Artists list which must be an oversight on NYCC's list...cause his friend Franco is on the list. Might be able to swing both with the recent sales lists I've posted...but I know I definitely will make the Big Apple show. Hope to see some of you guys there.
