I wonder if Khan would have been big down there if he was made back in the day?

^^^ I would put money on his Fantasy Island character being a bigger seller down in meh-heh-co. And no offense to my mexican friends here on the use of ignorant phonetics.......A

Star Trek never really quite caught on down there.

I lived there from ages 7-14...and the Six Million Dollar Man was waaaaaaaaay much more popular...saw tons of Hombre Biónicos action-figures...and practically zero Trek stuff.

                POTA was really popular too.

I think part of the reason Star Trek didn't catch on was due to the show being "too talkie and cerebral"...it just didn't translate well to Mexican audiences (both in language and culturally).

I rememeber a comedian back in the 80's used to make fun of the fact there's no Latino's in the Star Trek universe.

As a big nerd fan, it didn't make me laugh because I could name a few off the top of my head including "The Captain's Woman" and Commodore Mendez.

Yea, but I was talking about back in the 80's before Voyager even existed.

Still not quite sure what the deal is with this guy. Wish I could read the question and answer, but haven't used Spanish since high school in the 80's.

I don't think that counts as he played a Native American on the show, if my memory is correct. Of course I have been wrong thousands of times and that's just today's count!
