The cool thing about this thread is getting to see everyone's favorite picks, and the "whys" behind them.
My fave would have to be Scotty. I vividly remember getting him on Christmas Eve at our friends' house, then waking up the next day to find the rest of the Enterprise crew, along with the Enterprise playset, beneath our Christmas tree!
Dr McKoy. He's my favorite character in all of Trek and he's my favorite Mego as well. He looks like he's got something to say and you might not want to be on the receiving end of it.
My vote goes to the Neptunian. I still remember buying a MOC Neppy at a toy store at the Greenwood Mall in Greenwood, IN circa 1975-1976. I was mesmerized by that bright green and red critter. He gave off a real Creature from the Black Lagoon vibe hanging there on his peg. He was off the card moments after leaving the store, and he was one of the few toys who survived until my senior year of high school, when the Great Purge of 1982 claimed the lives of most of childhood playthings. I still miss the little guy :(
George
Scotty there is no other, between "She canna take anymore" to "its.... it's... it's Green" to "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" to "Does it go good with scotch?.... I'll let you know".
"Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of Doom
Neptunian- because he is the most versatile Mego. He's a Trek Alien, first and foremost. But he can also be a WGSH villian. He has no problem blending with those Mad Monsters. And he dated Mary Ellen for almost a year in the late 70's.
All the main characters are great!! Since the 1980's I thought T'Pau was interesting! Simply because a band was named T'Pau. Never really cared for the song - "give a little bit of heart and soul...." My favorite Mego is Kirk. I played with him so much that he was virtually unrecognizable.

The Gorn gets my vote, despite, or in fact perhaps due to, it's lack of resemblance to the onscreen counterpart. Normally this would be a toy killer, but in this case the replacement made for a cool mutant pal to my Mego Apes.
