That's great, Dave. I do love the horses, even though I don't own a single one. Seems like everytime I go for an obscure item, they suddenly become popular. I thought I had a MIB black AJ Mustang for sure a few weeks back, but was outbid for an ending price of $91. When I checked the bids, half the Museum was on it.
That's it, I'm seeking out variant Wee Woodys and Clown Arounds.
Good thing you got all those gears freed up. Maybe next Mego Meet, we can have a few wagers on a mockup horse track.
The box condition on both the Cochise and the Stallion are real nice. Nice color, no fading. The Stallion was missing his stirrups, otherwise he's real nice and minty and he does indeed work. Actually, all of the stallions I've had with remotes have been made to work after the gears had been freed up.
The twice a year Toledo Toy Show was this weekend. Never much there, usually a few overpriced beatup Megos. Everyonce in a while I buy something for me. For the most part, it's something my son and I do, and I load him up with Star Wars figures and we have a blast.
Today though, was my day. Walking by a table I see a boxed POTA Action Stallion. Anyone that knows me know I have a hard time resisiting Mego horses, but I figured this guy would want a fortune. Turns out he was asking $30. How could I pass that up? So horse number 14 got added to the stable.
Later, as I was checking out a couple beaters for parts, the guy says "you like May-gos?, did you see my boxed Cochise?" Now I'm not a boxed guy, but right behind my addiction for Mego horses is Mego westerns and while I don't own any I love the artwork on those boxes. Still, figured not to spend the cash. He had $50 on it, and before I could say a word he said "I'll give it to you for $30". About the easiest haggle I've ever had since I hadn't said anything. So again, another I couldn't pass up. Nice box, figure and parts still bagged inside.
Happens this way at that show. Usually it's all crap, but every once in a while I get lucky. 2 years ago this is where I found my RMR WITH original mask.
Anyway, a good day, but now I'm looking for more boxed Westerns.
