    How many of you thought...

...the Batcomputer in the Mego Batcave lit up by this misleading part of the commercial?

And how many of you were disappointed that it was only a piece of cardboard?

Absolutely! But that's as an adult. I remember getting the Batcave
for Christmas in 1974, but I don't have any recollection of being
bummed out over the cardboard computer.

At age 10.5, I probably thought that's what a computer was.

I definitely remember buying a boxed Batcave in 1994 for $200
from a store next to the World Trade Center. I told the guy
it was a birthday gift for my weird toy collecting brother, but
it was a birthday gift for me.

I never owned the Batcave, but yeah that commercial does make it seems as if the computer lights up. I want a Batcave now.

I bought alot of toys "for other people" in my early collecting days. Now I simply don't care what people think. Whatever. I do what I want.

Not only was I disappointed that it didn't light up, I had been hoping that it would be customizable so that you could put different faces in there. Batcave still was a favorite of mine. The other thing I wished for was that they actually had a dock for the Bat Boat and a real Bat Boat rather than a picture
            It's all good!

Yeah, I thought the faces were interchangable too!

That was 1994 - before I knew there were other mego fans out there.

I thought I was the only adult willing to pay good money for an old toy.
                Now I know better.

Now days I see more adults in the toy aisle's than kids.
