Just sticking with the Superheroes and Star Trek, but even there it's getting out of my taste in spots. I won't get the new Sinestro or Guy Gardner and even wondering about Darkseid. NOT a big fan of him anyway and he really needs a different body type. I like the looks of the others though. Hopefully when the new Batman movie comes out in 2012 there will be special stuff for it if they are doing special stuff for the Green Lantern movie. Hope so. Saving my money for a Commisioner Gordon or Scarecrow or Batgirl!
I really tried to stick to my two rules... Superheroes and Vintage, but each announcement of new figures just blows that out of the water.
I was thinking heroes and Trek early on, but that's completely blown. There's nothing I can do when TZ and monsters are in the mix. And Venture Bros and.....
Just ordered Batman and Aquaman from Entertainment Earth, (via Amazon). I can't wait til they get here!
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I don't have the disposable income to buy them all.
However, the only ones that interest me are the Superheroes, Flash Gordon and Scott Ian.
Flash Gordon and Scott Ian I can live without and will survive. lol.
I NEED the Mattel Batman. The rest I can live without though I would like Flash, GL, Superman and WW.
Now, the Zica Hawk.... I'm wanting that and I haven't seen the final figure yet.
So, NO, I will not collect them all. There just aren't that many that interest me enough. If they go on clearance, I'll pick up a few here and there and that only includes the lines I'm interested in.
I'm definitely in for more of the supers, especially those Mego never got around to (like the Mattel S1 GL and Luthor or the S2 Two-Face and Black Manta or the CAW Phantom) and for some of the ST (Oh, yes, Pike and Vina, you'll be mine!)
But I don't have any need for all that are coming out -- no offense, but for example, the TZ or NOTLD don't do it for me Then again, I have no interest in vintage Waltons or Dukes, either.
Just gettin' the ones I like . . . same as I did when I was a kid . . .
The Buck Rogers figures are my favorites so far. The Trek figures look good. Not sure which DC heroes I will get. I'm more into classic versions of characters that would expand the original Mego line. I'm picking up the whole Twilight Zone line. Cast A Way has some great stuff coming out. Hopefully it will enter this country soon. I'm hoping the Flash Gordon figures will look better then the prototypes. I'd like to see that line expand with more obscure characters. I hope to hear a price on the Super Collector soon. Anthrax was one of my favorite bands, so I'll get the Scott Ian eventually. I wish it was based on him from the past instead of today. I lost interest in them post Belladonna.
I'll be passing on the Lost line. Even if I loved the show Low it would be easy. All are extremely boring and look subpar. Their big heads and cartoonish sculpts don't fit the line. The Venture Brothers line looks great, but I don't care about the show. Some of the Dark Shadows figures look good, but never watched much of the show. Ghostbusters are a pass.
It's really is odd to me that so many different 8" figures are coming out by so many different companies. Almost every collector I come across does not collect that format. I hope the sales are good so different lines are produced. I just hope all these figures coming out at once don't hurt the hobby.
I don't care for TZ or the Venture Bros or much of the rest. Just doesn't interest me. Supre Collector/Mantooth is fun but I can live without it.
The Castaway stuff looks great but again, not going to die without it.

I actually like John Bush and there's a ton of great songs on the albums they did with him but what really bothered me was Scott changing his guitar sound. They had THE guitar sound with Joey.
