    Cast-a-Way Toys at SDCC

Cast-a-Way Toys while not at SDCC in person will be there in spirit (and in
figures) at the Shocker Toys booth (#3849) starting tonight (Thursday). On
display will be our newly updated Captain Action and Dr. Eville figures.
Each featuring new paint apps, updated accessories and new card art by
renowned comic artist Art Thibert. Also on display will be new figures...
Captain Action as the Phantom and Dr. Eville as Redbeard. If you're at the
show, stop by the Shocker Toys booth and introduce yourself to Ed Catto and
Joe Ahearn of Captain Action Enterprises.

Tell them Jason, David and Bryan sent ya.

I really wish we were there in person. I just want to point out that the phantom and redbeard masks shown in the these pictures are handpainted prototypes. The production pieces will look somewhat different.

Great stuff guys! I love the new artwork on the card (especially Capt Action). And the Mego-like approach with the other featured characters is a nice touch too! Good job. Another home run for Castaway Toys! Can't wait to order a set when they are available.

The new Captain action and Dr. Eville are also on display at SDCC... Boss did a break down on the improvements and posted it in the Cast-a-Way Section.

Does it matter? I mean they look great! That Redbeard looks outstanding.

Glad you like the Redbeard. I'm no historian but from what I learned from Ed Rhodes, Achmed and Redbeard were early Phantom villians and that's why we picked those characters rather than using Kabai Sengh. Kabai Sengh was in the movie and playing mantis made a Ca character of him, but in the original comics Kabai Sengh was a huge fat guy that died right away.

Interesting fact: After Redbeard was a bad guy for a while, the Phantom kicked his butt and then he ended up joing the Phantom's jungle patrol.
