What is your favorite SEASON as a collector ?

I don't think we ever discussed this before but depending on what season it is effects collecting.

People have different preferences ..
A few examples .......

Winter .....
Great collecting season ..
Nothing to do outside so tinkering "collecting" inside gets you through the long cold winter.

Spring .....
Nice time to collect ..
Fleamarkets are opening up ... people are cleaning out their closets and attics .

Summer ....
Fantastic time to collect ...
Fleamarkets and dirt malls are all open ......
Warm weather makes you remember your youth --- making you want your old toys back.

Fall ...
Wonderful time to collect ...
Weather is getting nicer (not so hot)
Fleamarkets and dirt malls are still open...
Holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving puts you in a collecting mood.

So, what is your favorites season to collect ?

Winter. Since it's the holiday season, the toy shows are generally bigger, and sellers tend to pull out their best wares.

Yes I would have to go for winter season as well. Everyone at the toy shows seems to bring out more and money goes a long ways. Everyones trying to purge to make enough money for Christmas and usually alot of rarer stuff comes to light on the bay during this season.

I think for me it's Fall.

Fall seems to just put me in a collecting mood.

Christmas. It's the time when my tips from customers at work get put to good use. I can usually get a piece that normally I can't justify spending the money on.

Fall, the weather is nice but cool, toy shows start happening again and Halloween always puts me in a toy collectin' mood.

Me, too--it's my favorite season, & I love seeing the shelves getting loaded up for holidays sales.

Before toys were sold year-round, I remember getting Christmas catalogs in late August/early September & drooling over them. The toy depts. at local stores would expand shortly thereafter.

My birthday was in late October, and it was fun asking Santa for Megos I didn't receives for my b-day.

Summer.... flea markets and garage sales galore! Plus if its an auction sometimes people are out and about and it gives me the chance to snag a good deal on line.

Winter has always been a magical time of the year for me. I always go into collector overdrive during that season.

No favorite season really. I get almost everything from eBay or here, all year round

Because I'm a full-time enthusiast but part time collector. I buy a few things at Mego Meet in June and usually in put up something after between then and July. I will be ceratin things if the right deal/piece comes up in the course of the year but June July and my biggest buying months for Megos. Outside of Megos would be comics and it doesn't matter as I buy year round, at comic shops, shows, and online.

For Megos, its a year-round thing. BUT... the I-want-everything bug seems to hit me during the back-to-school season. I guess that's kind of a combination of the end of summer and the beginning of fall. When I see all the pencils and notebooks filling the aisles, I start having Mead withdrawal or flashbacks to picking out a lunchbox. That leads me to remembering the rack toys I might be able to con out of my ma at the store... the next thing you know I've picked up an 8-track of Barry Manilow's greatest hits.

Yeah, back-to-school.
