Speaking of Ely, my first custom was a makeshift Doc Savage cobbled together from some of my broken Megos...I remember he had some ragged out Zaius pants w/ some red food coloring splattered on for a blood effect. I believe I used an Aquaman head, and I made a crude vest from scrap cloth. Good times.
LOL! Hahahah I did the Same with my Tarzan as a kid and funny enough I turned my beat up Lone Ranger figure into Tarzan I was a big fan of Ron Ely and wanted a Bigger version of him........

LIke most, I think its a case of whether you want a complete looking Tarzan or one that looks more realistic.

Personally I think the jumpsuit looks odd. Whether its type 1 or type 2, thats just the way a Mego body is so it wouldnt bother me about joints or rivets. In films, etc. Tarzan just wore a loin cloth so id go with just that.

I'm old school so to me Tarzan is not complete unless he is in his jammies and has his knife. The flesh jumpsuit is what gives Tarzan his charm. But like I said that's just me.

I'd go with the jumpsuit. It has the goofy Mego charm to it.

My Tarzan wears only his shorts cut out from the original jumpsuit, plus he's on a Fonzie body which is a little more muscular even than a T2, and can hold his knife in a convincing fist!

I like the body suit too because of the Mego cheesiness, but especially on a T1 body. On a T2 like Conan, I can see not having one. It just looks wrong to me otherwise.
