Mego Tarzan: With or without jumpsuit?

OK, I have a loose Mego Tarzan, but he came w/ an AJ jumpsuit and extra clothes, (maybe LJN Emergency). It was about 10 years later than I found the loin cloth. So now he wears that, but I really don't care for the flesh tone jumpsuit underneath, b/c although it hides the seams and rivets (T1), it looks like he's wearing pajamas. And really, how brave can the Lord Of The Jungle look wearing pajamas?

    What do you think?
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

What it boils down to is what do you like? if you want him to apear as mego made him well it's pjs for tarzan if you want a more custom look then ditch the pjs, my Tarzan wears the pjs because that's the way mego made him, but when i can find a tarzan head i will make a custom Tarzan the way he should have been made

I've seen too many attempts on eBay of people who cut the "flesh" part of the outfit. Also have seen him without the jumpsuit. Either one of those just doesn't look right.

              Hmmmm....

I got a Tarzan head a while back; so I put it on a T@ body, and sewed up a loincloth from a hand puppet I got at the dollar store. Looks just fine.

But on a T1 bod I'd probably go with the tights. The rivets and angular joints look really weird.

Here he is, with the rest of the "League of Fuzzy Underpants."

Looks a little more disco than usual; but that was the closest hand puppet they had to his actual loincloth. (He IS from the 70's, so I guess it's okay.)

Exactly!!!That jumpsuit makes me wanna puke.No flesh suit on Conan I say no fleshytards on Tarzan.Unles he is a T-1 then you simply must cover up those rivets.

I like that loin cloth on your Tarzan.

My vote is for no bodysuit... Even on a T1 body...

Mego could've easily given him a regular loin cloth without the "leggings". Look at Conan, look at Robin. They aren't afraid to show their legs Pesonally, I never liked the way Tarzan looked with his "leotards".

As an adult, I love the flesh-coloered bodysuit, it's part of that goofy Mego charm.

As a kid, I hated it, and immediately cut it away. I didn't even like that shoulder wrap, so I cut that away too. I wanted my Tarzan to look like Ron Ely.

Speaking of Ely, my first custom was a makeshift Doc Savage cobbled together from some of my broken Megos...I remember he had some ragged out Zaius pants w/ some red food coloring splattered on for a blood effect. I believe I used an Aquaman head, and I made a crude vest from scrap cloth. Good times.
