Batman Box Art

I know in the library it says that the art on the back of the Batman box was from a mail away poster.



I also found it on the Batman Giant Coloring Book by Whitman. Anyone know when this coloring book came out?

There are dozens of examples of merchandise utilizing that art, that colouring book came out in the mid 1970s

That poster came out in 1966. It was sold in a set with posters that had other images used over and over on licensing art for the next decade and a half. The Joker, Penguin, and Riddler stock art used on Mego boxes also came from these posters.

Wow. Thanks for the reminder of the worst trace job in history. I love it, but wow, it's pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure the source art is Carmine Infantino - he also did the Joker, Penguin,
and Riddler art back in the 60's.
