77 Mego Order Form Part 2: Loving the Micronauts!

Another find from the smelly box of musty old paperwork.
It's page four of the 1977 Mego Order Form complete with the thoughts of the toy buyer, it's interesting to see what the thought process was at the time. Click on the image for a better look:

As we can see here, somebody was crazy for the Micronauts and with good reason too, Mego spent the money on TV advertising to make sure that this line became a household word.

Looks like he was interested enough to keep from finishing up coloring in the Mego logo this time.

    a hit for sure.

Wow - Looks like the only thing he didn't order were the individual cartons of the the basic motorized vehicles, and went with the assortment of those instead.

A lot of notes on TV advertising. Was this buyer responsible for coordinating with his store/chain's advertising department? Would he have been responsible in some way with delivery of copies of TV spots to local TV stations?

      "Toy RU raised price"...

Brian, I do hope you're able to find out just who wrote these notes. It would be interesting to see just what all these scribbles mean.

      Too cool. Thanks for sharing!

These all seem to come from "Reds" in NYC, who seemed to have a lot of leftover toys in the 1990s

"Reds" was a place that sold pools and outdoor furniture as the story was told to me. I think his first store was in Brooklyn. The person here that probably knows a little more about Reds is Peter R here on the museum. I think he may have had some dealings with Reds. I have one of those Mego Toy Fair Catalogs/order forms from Reds. It is in a folder with some stuff that didn't come out like the motorized blimp. If I find it I'll make some scans of it. I think the toyfair one I have is from 1980 or 81. I could be wrong. Also came with the commercial time frame for advertising during shows.

Their eyes can't hope to see
