We have tickets (purchased them last year) but due to financial concerns - my wife lost her job six months ago - we're not going to be able to attend. Really sucks, too, with all the Mego-like goodness that's going to be there.
So, not to beat a dead horse here, but is anyone here going for sure that might be able to hook me up with a Plastic Man and suitcase and the MOTU Orko? SDCC is around the corner now.

Picking stuff up for people at SDCC is really, really, really tough.
If you've never been there (or it's been awhile) then you may think it's just a really big comic book convention event, with "normal" lines to buy stuff. It's not.
On average, it takes 1/4 of the day to wait in just one line. (No less than a few hours for almost all lines on the hot and really limited stuff). Some companies make you go to level one stations opposite side of the main convention floor, then up on the second level, and wait in a line there until noon (or whenever), just for a chance to get a ticket-pass, with a time frame, to go back down to the convention floor and wait in the "actual" line to buy your exclusive item. Without that "pass" you can't wait in the line-proper. That process can take up 1/2 the day. It's not fun trying to get this stuff, and is A LOT of WORK. So, couple that with trying to get items for others and YOWSA! the whole day, or trip, can be blown just on exclusives.
After I went through that a few years back I vowed never to return. I'll just get my stuff from matty.com or the 'bay. Cheaper by far, and my life span is increased through lower stress.

Yeah.. it a frack'n' nightmare. I'm sure there are some real spectacular horror stories out there.
I know last year many, many, many people spent hours upon hours trying to get various DC Direct and Mattel exclusives and when they got to the front of the line many of these items were sold out. (Mattel has limits on some items, and none on others, dealers buy multiples and cases.). Some of these sell outs happened on a Friday, some items sold out Saturday early, so any people going later in the day or on Sunday never had a chance at getting them.
There's so many examples like this too.. just google for these stories and they'll make you cringe.
I totally understand if they can't and I know it's not easy. But I didn't pay $100 for a Gleek (which I still don't have) and I won't pay that for a suitcase. But if someone can snag it who doesn't want one I'd be forever grateful.

Yah its really bad when you go. I have gone and you dont get to see the whole floor in a day if your looking at everything. The lines for exclusives are quite long and you have to have waited in line for a ticket first then wait in line with the ticket for the item. There are some advantages though theres a limit I think of a certain number to the one specific item you can buy. The last time I went I waited in line for one exlcusive and my buddy waited in the other line for the other one. We both got two of each so we wouldnt have to hastle. I think there is actually a website thats throught the SDCC that sells the exclusives at a certain time daily till they sell out. They normally have a few set aside for the general public to buy. Or at least thats what it was like two years ago when I went. Might have changed now cause I know they were monitoring the tickets to where you had to be there in person with ID to pick them up to monitor for the scalping going on.
