I was just watching The Black Hole today and

Afterwards I went on to the internet and started looking for information on the film and the toys and I stumbled on this great website, and I honestly forgot how many cool toys Mego's did, and the great memories I have of them.

Having been born in 1974 I was really lucky to have lived through a time when you could get CHiPS toys and The Black Hole figures and the like, these toys are so fresh in my memory I can remember the feel of how the wheels on the CHiPS bike went around and what the paint on Reinhardt's face was like.

And if only that 20inch remote control Vincent had of been released, ah well it's probably a good thing because I would have had an heart attack and I wouldn't have been here.

Welcome aboard! Oddly, I never had any of the Black Hole figures when I was a kid, but I collect them now. Mego, and GiG in Italy, released some cool toys for this line, it's just too bad that they had to cancel the other planned items due to poor sales (and the lackluster boxoffice of the film itself).

Welcome! I never had the Mego Black Hole figures as a kid, but in a terrible business move (as a kid), I traded my Mego, 8" Figure Batmobile for a few Black Hole Trading Cards. Doh!

I met Robert Forster at an Eastman House screening of another cult movie he did called "Alligator". He's a really nice guy.

I had him sign my Jackie Brown DVD (I thought of trying to get a MIP 12" Black Hole figure for him to sign but there were none on Ebay when I needed them) and told him how much I liked him in "The Black Hole". He told me lots of people my age always bring up "The Black Hole" and how much they like it.

And another person brought a Black Hole pop-up book for him to sign.

I have never seen the black hole all the way thru. tried watching it many times but i could never seem to get into it. but the toys were cool and i did have a few growing up.

Love the film, it came at that great point in between Star Wars movies and I just thought it was fantastic. Had all the toys and still do.
