Megos at the Museum... the OTHER Museum

This is big cool news here in Oklahoma... on October 27th Mego will be inducted into our own Toy and Action Figure Museum in Paul's Valley (about 30 miles south of Norman).

Along with Mego will be the Kenner et al Star Wars toys.

I talked to museum curator Kevin Stark today and got unprecedented access to some of their archives and his studio. He got a big bunch of Megos DONATED from someone who couldn't bring himself to sell them, but had to part with them nevertheless. Kevin actually gets a lot of stuff for the museum in this way.

The Toy & Action Figure Museum is growing by leaps and bounds, and Kevin's made some great contacts who want to help. Stan Winston is donating some stuff and there are huge plans as the the institution heads into its second year.

If any of you guys get the chance to come out to Central Oklahoma, the museum is darn well worth the trip.

Actually, very few Megos are in the Toy & Action Figure Museum. Because Kevin just got this donation, and because inclusion of Mego is long overdue, the inauguration of Megos into the institution will take place Oct. 27th.

The event itself will take place on the 2nd anniversary of the museum, and will include induction of the Kenner Star Wars figures as well. It's going to be cool!

The first inductees were 12" GI Joe and McFarlane's Spawn collection. Not sure who last year's inductees were or if there were any.

Here is a YouTube clip of the museum.
