Mego Sighting in old Rock video

Was just on youtube checking out a Canadian garage band I used to like called the Gruesomes and noticed a Mego Spock and an Aurora Frankenstein about 30 seconds in:

I love garage music and I used to own the Gruesomes records but I gave them to a cute little mod girl I wanted to impress. I do remember that they had an endorsement on one sleeve penned by Fuad Ramses, but I hadn't seen Blood Feast yet, so I didn't realize how cool that was till later.

I'll give you Nickelback is from Canada and maybe THEY don't count but, dude, Steppenwolf is from Canada. Steppenwolf counts!

I know a lot of people don't like Rush, but they should count. Right? (and Mahogany Rush, both from Canada!) Oh and April Wine! Triumph? Crash Test Dummies? Anvil? Max Webster? Godspeed You Black Emperor? Arcade Fire? I Mother Earth? Killer Dwarfs? Men Without Hats? Slaughter? (ok, maybe not Slaughter)

Plus the Genesis tribute band The Musical Box!

Canada is rich with musical awesomeness!

Great eye. Given the rough version of that video on youtube, I would have NEVER realized that was Spock.

Ahem, Rush is wiped out by the existence of Honeymoon Suite.

Oh Austin, shame on you lol Some of my favorite bands of all time are Canadian!!

Side note-- there was a band here in the Chicagoland area that formed in the early 1980s also called The Gruesomes, who played a kind of "punk metal", and for years there was a kind of long distance rivalry over the name once the two bands learned of each other (ah the days before the internet!) I actually played in the U.S. version of the band for several years too. Always cracks me up when bands get so stubborn about just changing the name!

^^^^Larry, you know I'm just kidding. It's my nature to kid.

I am as big a Rush fan as anybody. I remember listening to their first album on my buddy's turntable back in the day and thinking "How cool is this band". And, that was the album before Peart joined. It still could be my favorite.

BTW, Honeymoon Suite has one of my all time favorite album covers. The one with the chamber maid putting new sheets on a heart-shaped-bed-of-nails. Brilliant!!!
