I don't do as much business here as I would like, but when I do, I prefer to know what the seller wants for the item. I am not informed enough to know what things are really worth, mostly because my brain is so full of random and useless movie and TV information that I don't really absorb the massive amounts of info here that I should.

If I know the price, I know right away if I can afford it or if I'm even willing to consider it. I don't like to make offers. As mentioned by Palitoy and others, I don't want to be insulting to the seller.

One problem that stems from this, is that I have often wanted to sell off things that I have but I don't really know the worth of my stuff. And since I don't like making offers, I don't like asking others to either. So my pile of "Mego" stuff just gets bigger and bigger and bigger.

    But that's okay too.

"I prefer to remain an enigma."

Same here. I have enough of a problem with people without being insulting offering too little for what they want to get rid of.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I prefer a price too. I'm not much of an offer-maker. Plenty of auctions to be had on ebay. I find that most of the folks on here who are selling something I am interested in usually list how much they would like for it. Just makes life simpler...

I don't have a problem with a seller in the Market Place saying "make me an offer"...simply because I never do...I move on to someone else who does.

              Problem solved!

I prefer it if the seller has a price, even if the price might seem a little high (obviously there is high and on meds high ), its a starting point for negotiation.

Seems like everyone so far prefers a price over "make an offer". That would explain why so many threads in the Marketplace remain with stuff unsold, I hope people are taking notice

I haven't been here for very long, but I have been dealing on several other sites for a long time. Like others have said, if the seller is looking for offers, I just move on. One of the main reasons I prefer buying on the forums is because I don't want to get into a nerve wracking eBay bidding war.

                        Ditto.
I can't be bothered sending an offer and having them rebut it by saying I have an higher offer elsewhere what can you do?
Just put the price if I want it I'll pay it.

I have to laugh when someone tells me to "make an offer" then gets
offended and mad when they don't like the answer.

It means that do have a price in mind and don't want to tell me.

Every seller should have an expectation on what they want to sell their goods for, so I fully expect the seller to have the price ready to go. That's why at flea markets if they don't have Mego's marked, I go right past. The same for online items.

                              Exactly.

It's the vendor that ultimately decides whether a sale occurs or not, so it's up to them to name their price IMO.

Having said that, sometimes as a buyer you have to make the first offer to get a tentative seller moving.

Make an offer to me is just like the bidding game. Seller already has a price in mind of what hes willing to take. Just would like to see if he can get more for it. Especially when it comes to mego. The prices for megos are easy to read since its wall to wall mego here and they come up more often. I understand some people sometimes genuinly dont know what a collectible is worth but thats what the topics are for. Usually someone here can point you in the right direction of where to find information.
