    Mego Price Guide

Hello everyone. As a new collector who now owns some of his first Megos since childhood, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good online reference for pricing of these little guys. I know that there are a lot of factors which will influence the price, so I'm just looking for rough estimates. I've been keeping a close eye on some of the forums as well as eBay for several months now, so I'm getting better at spotting a good deal; however, there are many figures that just don't seem to come up for sale very often, and each time I see one I'm tempted to jump on it without truly knowing it's value. So far, I've been able to contain myself, but it would be really nice to have some sort of guide. Thanks in advance for any help.

By the time someone would've made a price guide the prices would be outdated, either getting cheaper or more expensive

I know it would be somewhat of a chore to keep an updated list . . . wishful thinking I guess. I'm sure after a few years at this I'll be able to instantly spot a rip-off.

Or just start a thread here with any questions you have, plenty of people here could give you an answer

              Yes.

Go to eBay Completed Items...and you can get a gauge of final prices...it's the way to go...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've been doing the eBay completed items checks for quite some time now, but every now and again there is still a figure that pops up that I'm unfamiliar with. I was going to pick up a figure from the classifieds here that came up a few day ago, but I wasn't able to find much info on the pricing. Unfortunately it sold, and now I'm kicking myself. Eventually I'll get to be an expert on pricing, but for now I'm sure I'll make my fair share of mistakes.

I am not sure anyone will ever be an expert on pricing, I know in 3 years or so of being back to "full time" mego collecting, I am still shocked and suprised time and time again...
but, as some have mentioned, there are some wonderful sources here on the boards, that can certainly assist!

A price guide would be useless, prices are all over the place at the moment. It really can come down to who is online that day/week. They are good for the pretty pics though.

Exactly. Sometimes these things sell for major money and other times the price drops off dramatically. It depends on who is bidding at the time and who is willing to pay what is asking. I've never seen these things consistent.

                            Courtesy of Google Translate:

Hi, it all depends on where you look prices if you buy in or out of america, in other countries is cheaper and even shipping charges are cheap, I collect action figure and pdj here in Spain. A smaller scale but with a little patience come the clothes and accessories if necessary manufacture or redesign oneself that each brand. in the 70s you had a lot to buy in the shops of toys., but being small is that you had no money. greetings and megoaction

In an earlier thread of mine I talk about how I bought the latest Toy price Guide book which came out last month (June 2013). All the information on mego was unchanged from their 2009 edition...and as an example they have a carded Invisible Girl listed for $60 when it goes way higher than that. It will take time to gauge prices on your own.
What is the obscure mego you want a price on?
Fist Fighter megos here and abroad stump me on current market value. As do sewn on sleeve spidey, the variation Large S Supermans', and other stuff, too. They also fluctuate in going rate week to week.
If you get to be a regular here and build posts and trust, i generally find you can get what you want here on mego museum marketplace sometimes 10%-35% cheaper than ebay.
                              Good luck!
                              P.S. What is the mego?
