How hard is it to find one of these mystery pilots or its head? Also is there a museum card for this guy? I would like to have one but I bet a lot of others would too.

There is no "Mego mystery pilot". The pilot mystery was solved by them being knock-offs. They were made for RC planes. -
To answer your question, they seem to come around in batches and while I'm sure heads come around too I haven't seem them alone . . .the hardest thing to find is the helmet

Lonnie, I think trappy meant this figure:
Found in this thread:
Mego of the Day: Mystery Pilot/Astronaut/Man - Mego Talk
I think the one Lonnie was talking about was the 12 inch ones. Those were proven to be basically not prototypes at all and indeed knockoffs using the same bodies as Mego 12 inch bodies. And to answer Trappy's question...they are hard to find...but back in the day they were about as hard to find as a Alter Ego figure. I'm bringing an extra that is missing the Helmet with me to MegoMeet this year."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

I actually tracked down the guy who owned MGA Pilots (who made the 12" figures). Never called him yet though. I will one of these days and ask him about the 8" Mystery Pilot. If it wasnt a type 1,(and the bagged header card thing) I would say its most likely from the same source."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

i have said it before and i know brian will back me up here - it is definitively ....
Major Anthony Nelson
I talked to Larry Hagman. He said it was intended ot be him. He didn't approve of the figure and he had rights to the character.
Incidentally none of the above is true.Comment
