The MM Gallery is the most incredible resource, I would truly be lost without it, but i was wondering if it would ever be turn into a published book? I would certainly buy it if was.

Will the Museum Gallery ever turn into a book?

Daunting is the word for it. For one, to do it of sufficient quality, say, even half as good as Ben's book...you'd have to re-photograph everything at higher resolution. Considering everything in our galleries come from multiple sources that task alone is overwhelming. Not to mention design, text, proofing...We have enough trouble keeping the website in decent shape, and as it is there are numerous typos and errors.
But, we had a good time doing the catalog and I could see us doing some more MM publications in the future.

The thought of an all in one megomuseum book gives me facial ticks, that's a big job. Like Scott says, more Mego Museum publications are totally happening and some of the content from the site itself may trickle down.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

My butt was starting to become shaped like the seat of my chair with all of the hours I spent working on just my 5 CIPSA cards. I can imagine how much time got put into the Reimagined catalog and a book such as Clem asked about would be a mind boggling amount of hours. Working in the industry, I have a great appreciation for how much time is put into the creation of the awesome pieces that are put out here at the Museum, and I don't think we can ever give enough thanks to the people who spend the time doing this.
On the other hand Clem, a book such as that would be awesome. I'd spend big bucks for one. However, even discounting the amount of time it would take to produce it, Scott is correct when he points out that the images are web resolution and would need to be reshot for print. That alone makes it pretty much impossible to do.Comment

It's been my resolve to take only high res pictures for a while now, eventually I'll replace everything on the museum with them. I've got a growing database of print quality images.
However, I don't own everything in the museum and kind of doubt I ever will.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

What an incredible book that would be!
Given the amount of folks that hang out in the community with all kinds of skillsets, one has to wonder if there is some kind of "open source" way of making this happen!
I've noticed some wiki's out there that are tied to print to order book options. Not sure of the quality of product that results.Comment

A book would be fun, but out of date the moment it was printed. The website is an ever-growing, evolving thing, and anyone who has internet access to view it for free. So I'm not sure I even see the need for a book. More things like the 1978 catalog, however, I very much support.--

...not to be a buzzkill, but after 12/21/2012 I'm going to need that book just to survive. If you need a hole, I can dig it.Comment

I feel like i've just broke wind in a Church, that will teach me to think out loudI just felt the Gallery read like a book with the way its layed out, structurally all the info is there. Love the accessory check too. Totally understand where your all coming from .. respect. Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Heck I'd buy it annually if updated, but it would be a nightmare for anyone to tackle, and I wouldn't want anyone but the administrators around here spearheading it, or it would seem "farmed out".
It's a great idea, just not a practical one it seems.
