Mego Museum Secret Santa 2007

I talked to Brian about hosting a Secret Santa and he said it is fine. He said megomanjess did one last year, so if he does want to host it again this year, I will turn the info over to him.

It may seem alittle early, but Christmas is only three months away, so I figured take two months to figure out what the person you drew collects and figuring out what to get them, and a month for shipping in case of international shipping.

This is how it will work:

If you want to participate, pm me your name and address and what you collect for the most part, Batman, POTA, and even non-Mego toys, etc.

I will make the dead line to join one month from today, Oct 20th.

Also post on this topic your wants and likes so who ever draws your name can get an idea.

I will put the names in a hat and draw, assigning names to each other.

The gift will be in the range of minimum $25 plus shipping. If it is not a new gift, i.e. a Mego figure, just use your own judgement on the value.

Snoop around, get other people to ask what the person is looking for. You can even leave a reply here of what you are looking for.

Jess usually does this, did you contact him to ask if it was alright to do this yourself? Not sure why you feel to need to steal someone's idea. It's cool you wanna do something for the Museum and it's members, but at least come up with an idea of your own

Brian said he thought Jess may have done something like this, but he was not sure. Jess hasn't been on in a couple weeks. I pm'ed him and told him if he wanted to do it, I will turn the info over to him.

Actually, I was planning on doing a "White Elephant" game, but it is only fun with about 20 people or more.

The "White Elephant" game is where everyone brings a undisclosed $25 gift and everyone is drawn a number. The person with the 1st number selects a gift from some one and that is his gift. Everyone knows what that 1st gift is now. The second person can now steal that gift from #1 or select another undisclosed gift from another person. If he steals the gift from #1, #1 selects another undisclosed gift. #3 person now can steal either gift from #1 or #2, or "open" another undisclosed gift. And so on until all the gifts are open.

A gift can only be stolen once per round, and a round ends when an undisclosed gift is "opened."

I personally like the secrest santa idea. If the "white elephant" is done count me out. No big deal or hard feelings at all if the majority go with the white elephant.

No, we are not doing the White Elephant. I hosted one last year on another forum, it was fun, but alot of work on the host, keeping up with whose turn it was, who had what gift, etc. The Secret Santa is real easy, just pull the names.
