Since this is my first year participating, when should we send the Secret Santa gift out?

Obviously, we would have to place a return address on the parcel but should we reveal who their Secret Santa is at the time of shipment or at some point later?

Alot of people don't know other people's actual names on here, so I would worry about them knowing who you are.

I am sending out my gift the 1st or 2nd week of December, but it is not going very far. If yours is going internationally (to Meule for example), make plans to mail it by the week after Thanksgiving, just to be sure.

Also, if you're worried about the recipient knowing who you are, you could ask to use another Museum member's return address. In past years, all participants were asked to pm the organizer once they got their gift, so he knew who was a "good Santa" and got their packages out on time. I know the person that I'm sending a gift to will recognize my real name. So I'm either going to buy something for him/her online and have it shipped directly from there or use another return address.

And just so I'm clear, the Santas are not expected or encouraged to hide their identities once the thing arrives, yes? I ask because my Secret Santa Target and I have exchanged mail before and I also sealed the box which has a card that I signed within.

I think it's almost impossible to hide your Secret Santa identity, people know each other too well here. And it's really impossible for me, as I'm the only one sending a gift from Belgium. I'm even gonna have to lie on the custom's form about what's inside so that my Secret Santa Target won't immediately find out, it's gotta be a surprise
