What to do, what to do....

    ....
I have 2 pretty nice display cases (just ordered a third)...

I am going to reorganize my collection once the new case arrives...

I collect loose, MIB and MOC...

    so, how do I display?
by character (as I do now, all 3 mixed together)... by type (loose in one case, boxed in a second case and carded in a third)...

do I set it up by years? by affiliation (marvel vs dc, heroes vs villians) etc

I am keeping my CAH seperate, they fit nicely on on little walmart case, and my Star Trek I guess I have enough to adorn the top of the cases... but what about the insides!

looking to "shake it up" would value fellow members opinions

I've enjoyed seeing pics of your collection where you have them broken down by character. Very cool to see the development of the figure by Mego this way - T1's transitioned to T2's - or RC Bats transitioned to Molded Cowl, etc. But if you are looking to change things up - this probably isn't the input you are looking for. I'm sure whatever you come up with, will look great.

For Carded or Boxed 8" WGSH's I would arrange by card color - make sure no clashing colors are next to each other ... Keeps the blues all seperated etc.

I like it by type, All the boxes together, all the cards together, especially yours is most impressive that way.

I typically keep carded together, boxed together and loose together. I also keep DC together and Marvel together. But I do have to say I love your pics of them grouped by character. Nice to see the evolution.

I like seeing the mibs together and the mocs together, but the loose could sit in front of either.

My vote is for loose in one case, boxed in one case and carded in the other.
Then each shelf in each case can represent certain years if theres enough space.
I look forward to your pics

I set up my display case in chronological order of character release with the back
of the box showing the artwork with the loose figure in front alternating more
                    forward with more recessed.

I just stash 'em under my mattress for safe keepin'. Naw, I have one case of Megos and I can only afford to collect loose figs. But they're loved all the same.

I use the cases to display my loose figures. That way I can take advantage of the shelves' depth without blocking too much. I was worried if I put just the boxes or cards on the shelves, there's be too much space in front not being used. For the packaged figures, I found a small shelf with a lip at Ikea that fits both boxed and carded figures almost perfectly. I don't recall their name, but they are white and have a "u" shape when looked at from the side.

                          here's a pic-

HOWEVER- for the smaller lines or ones for which I only have a couple pakcgaed figures, I like to put loose figures in front of the boxes-

I'm sure whatever you do will look great! I look forward to pictures of your final set-up

In the converted cases I use now I put carded and boxed behind loose. But I like what Bill did with his packaged stuff. Seeing his pics have given me some ideas I hope to try out someday. It will just depend on what type of display cases I'll have then.
