Very interesting. A lot of times when our image links get used in cases like this it's an image that comes up quickley in Google Image Search (Blackbeard, Long John Silver, the Riddler) but this isn't one of them. He's clearly been here. That's neat.

With all of the possible images of Batman, this does seem somewhat intentional (and most appreciated). Either way, its a tribute to the both Mego and the incredible art these cards represent.
