to an 8 inch action figure revolution. So we all know what we have coming up this year but imagine if Hasbro decides 8inch is the way to go for Star Wars. It has not touched any figure in this scale and could start from the top.

It's definitely the best foot forward we've ever had. 8 inch superheroes at TRU, hopefully to be followed by a number of license, if there was ever a chance of revolution, this is it.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Hasbro would never do 8" Star Wars.
they haven't even done 6" Star Wars, and fans have been clamoring for that (as well as 6" GI Joe) for YEARS.
but then, Hasbro DID do GI Joe in 8" with Sigma Six, and people HATED it.Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figuresComment

If most of you are seeing the Retro figures fly off the shelves like I have, I can only imagine good things for the 8" figure. I stopped in at 4 TRU between NYC and Philly and only found a couple Luthor and even less Sinestro.WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.Comment

All the stories I hear about how kids are digging the new Mattel figures, and how parents and grandparents are willing to buy them because they remember buying them 30 years ago give me great hope that we're seeing the re-birth of 8" as a viable toy format. If Hasbro jumps in with Marvel and Star Wars, I may not survive my ecstasy.
But then again, I remember Famous Covers and DC 9" and I can't really understand why the new ones would take off with kids where those didn't. Can it be that there was a reason that the original Mego figures had a wide appeal? That it's not just about the scale of the figures, but the actual design and feel of them? I know we all love them, but our opinion's not to be trusted - we're the hardcore fans.
Just musing. Hasbro, get your retro-action Superheroes and Star Wars going. Take my dollars!Comment

Yes...I can't wait to see if Hasbro jumps on the 8" Bandwagon. I guess a lot of the depends on how successful the Mattel Figures are? If they really take off(although I have my concerns due to the poor quality)...than Hasbro certainly wouldn't be able to stand Mattel getting "one up" on them.sigpicComment

Kids do Love the new figures, my 9 yr old couldn't go to sleep without his GL. If Hasbro made them they could use their own body, maybe even a super articulated body. We could have all the Marvel universe in Mego form. I feel that the 9" figures didn't go over well because they weren't 8". Even the 9" playmates Trek figures would have been cooler in 8". If Hasbro jumps aboard then maybe Star Wars and other lines as well????? If this happens I will have to get a second job.Comment

Hasbro has kinda been skirting around new 8" figures for a while now, with Sigma 6, and the Star Wars "Force Battlers", which were 8", and a few Marvel figures here and there like the new 8" Iron Man and War Machine. It seems as though someone at Hasbro is interested in 8 inch figures, but they won't really committ to doing a full line. Of course, none of the above mentioned were Mego style figures with cloth suits either.Comment

I think a problem with the Famous Covers stuff was the giant boxes they came in. The simple cards the Mattel figures come on will probably attract more attention. The FC boxes had to have the front flap opened to even see the figure. You want to have attention called to your product over the other packages next to it. That is why simple package design is better. Less package attention and more figure attention.Comment

Honest to God, what I'd like to see is Hasbro do a reissue of the Super Joes with a little more durable construction. I think that'd be a real oddity that the GI Joe collectors would eat up. We mego collectors would jump on 'em too, I think.

With EMCE getting all these licenses, only now do I feel that Mego is back.
Pretty good feeling..
