    Retro Heroes

Has anybody seen the retro heroes at the toys r us in winchester virginia? This is the closest TRU store near me. It takes me about an hour and half to get there from where I live. I have been meaning to take a trip out there on a saturday but I have been working six days a week lately and have not had the time. I was just curious if anyone had any info.Another thing I would like to say is that Megasorus dude was rude, and I am glad that a person of his negativity was banned from here. I have not posted a lot, but everyone I have communicated with have been friendly and very helpful. We are all here to enjoy the mutual appreciation of the MEGO toys, and as collectors I feel that we should respect one another. I also want to say a big thanks for DOC MEGO for getting the ball rolling and bringing back MEGOS.Best regards to all.

Can you call them first to save the gas? and yeah, I agree on your other point.

I'm from WV and I have been going to Mego Meet for 2 years, does everyone here from WV go too? I saw the new wave coming out in Toy Fair magazine and the Batman has the removeable cowel I thought that was awesome!! Hey silentJ I live in between Chareston and Huntington so I'm near two TRU let me know what you are looking for and I will try to find them. I bought my set from BigBadToyStore.com but I will try to find them there too. If I get them I will PM you and we can do some trading possibly.

I can't speak for Winchester, but I found them at the Richmond TRU. So they are at least in the state. I agree that a call beforehand may be your best bet. Good luck!

Wow, I guess I'm 4th West Virginian to post in this thread! Glad to see we're such a discriminating bunch, toy-wise!

I'd say finding them in-store will be pretty hit-or-miss for a while; I found Superman, Luthor and Sinestro at the TRU in Clarksburg, WV on Saturday, then found Green Lantern in Parkersburg, WV later that day (close to home for me). When I checked out in Clarksburg, the woman who rang them up said "Hey, those are neat! Someone called about these yesterday, but I told them we didn't have them!". So don't count on the TRU staff being very helpful over the phone. If you don't want to risk it, I'd recommend BigBadToystore.com. Of course, you can't inspect them for flaws that way, but it'd save time and gas for sure.

Oh, and Trappy Trek Freak, I made it to my first meet last year ! I'd love to go again this year, but I'm scheduled to work, so unless I can get someone to switch with me, I'm afraid I'll have to miss out this time.

I hate to see anyone banned from posting here - it's like being in the Phantom Zone.

                      West Virginia mego power!

I live in West Virginia too! Down in the phantom zone of the state in Bluefield. Born and raised in Illinois though so I don't bleed blue & gold. I can feel for you being about two hours from a TRU. I ordered from Big Bad Toys and got great prices and service. I did go to the TRU in Winston Salem NC two weeks ago though and they had them there. Not sure about Roanoke. That might be the closest for you. Not sure if they have one in Lexington. Wife & I and son will be at the meet this year. We usually go every other year. Hope to see you there.-Corey

                        Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the replies to my post. The one from warlock 664 caught my attention. I have 3 TRU stores that would take an average of 2 hours to get to. The one in winchester virginia is the closest to me being an hour and half away.I have been to the one in clarksburg WV,which is a little over 2 hours away. The last one is in Hagerstown MD, which is about 2 hours away from me.I live in Mineral County WV, and it is nice to see other people on here from the same state.Hey Trappy Trek Freak thanks for the offer, I will let you know if I can't find them. I really want to purchase these myself from a TRU store, and experience the feeling of seeing these hanging before me. I got my first megos back in 79 for christmas, and they were 8'' batman and robin.I have a picture that I display with my collection of me holding them up while standing there in my batman underoos.I still get a kick out of that picture, it brings back good memories. If I could post it I would, but I don't have a scanner or digital camera to do so.Thanks once again to all who replied. This place is so cool, I never realized how many mego heads were out there.
