KISS Megos in the wild. (And a SMDM too)

This past Saturday they had a Rock-n-Roll expo in Charlotte, NC. It was probably 80% KISS memorabilia and there was about 8 complete sets of Mego KISS dolls for sell. Straight arm, skinny body, and buff body were mixed together with one seller having six of the sets for sell. The only other things of interest toy wise were some Beatles items, something called a ChatBot that looked like it was from the 80's, and a Six Million Dollar Man that I bought. The SMDM was different than the ones I had as a kid in that the bionics "chip" did not come out and instead you pushed it down to make the hand close, and he was supposed to have a girder instead of the engine block that I always had.
Zombie? Vampire? Evil clown?!? Yes, please.

Sounds like you got the post 1976 version.

In 1977, Kenner changed his arm to have the "Bionic Grip", it looked the same, but was metallic under the real skin. It also had a button to replace the smaller circuit that made his hand close when you pushed it. The box got changed and he came with a steel beam instead of a motor.

Prices seemed to start around the $75 mark. Did the change in the Bionics come about due to the fear of kids choking on small parts?
