The Top Five Retro Action Heroes We'd Like To See

It's been entirely too long since a Mego Museum Top Five List. While the information about the 3rd wave of Mattel's Retro Action Heroes hasn't been released at the time of this writing, we at the Megomuseum cobbled together a wishlist of sorts based on characters that we felt we missing back in 1978, so without further adieau, here are our top five

    Number 5- Apache Chief
Ok, granted he's one of those multi culture pals created for the Superfriends but Apache Chief was head and shoulders above Wendy and Marvin in terms of character quality. His later work on Harvey Birdman and utterly cool catchphrase put him on our want lists.

That is a very good list. While I'm not a big Apache Chief guy, I know that many others on the board would like to see him made. For me, I would prefer some of the JLA Satellite era team membrs - like Hawkman, Atom, Elongated Man, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, Red Tornado or Firestorm - over Apache Chief. Love choices 1 through 4 though, and hopefully those will become a reality very soon.

He's a long shot for sure and I think it really depends where your love of Superheroes comes from, the comics or the cartoons.

Great point. I was into comics even before watching the Superfriends, so I often wondered as a kid where Apache Chief even came from.

Great list, but I might swap out Brainiac for Black Vulcan

I like Black Vulcan too but I'm not sure he should be in wave 3.

That is true ... wave 3 is a little early

I think my problem is i'm kind of bias against bad guys so i'm usually willing to swap out bad guys for ANY hero

I don't think I would go for the Apache Chief, but I certainly would like to see some more gals.

I'd prefer Black Lightning over Black Vulcan. Someone on the Remego boards pointed out that if they do a 70's style John Stewart GL, they could reuse the head to make a 70s Black Lightning, which strikes me as a good idea.

Though I think they'd be wiser to do a buzz-cut JLU cartoon John Stewart to bring in the younger generation.

I'm hoping they do a Flash and Plastic Man. I'd love to see The Creeper, Dr Fate, Bizarro, Captain Cold, Power Girl and Red Tornado at some point down the line as well.

wow, great list. Brainiac and Cheetah heck yeah. DocMego and Mattel have done such a good job I'll take whoever they put out as long as they continue to do so. Being 7 again is awesome.

I could see Plastic Man in there somewhere. Showing up alot on The Brave and Bold cartoon doesn't hurt.

The Bat is right you gotta have a RC Batman and a Robin. The RC Batman should be an exclusive and the actual wave should be Robin, Flash, Brainiac, and Mr. Freeze. My wave 1 was shipped yesturday and I preordered wave 2. I just wish Marvel would jump on board so we can have a new mego HULK. As long as they make them we will buy them.
