That was a great read. I have only seen a couple episodes of the Venture Brothers, but I know enough about it to get the Mego direction. That property makes more sense in Mego style than the rest they are doing. The people that are complaining about the style, well, it almost seems like they don't get the show and should be watching something else.

I can't wait to hear what other properties they will be tackling. Every time I see those Twilight Zone prototypes I drool a little.

Great read. Wise to admit he's seen the uproar over the Venture stuff, and even wiser to stick to his guns about the choice hes made. I for one am glad they went for Mego style over anything else!

Look forward to seeing more from BBP in the future!!

Gotta love his straightforward take it or leave it answers. Absolutely no butt kissing. This is the way we want it, this is the way they want it, and if you don't like it sorry. Exactly the way business needs to be done. I am so looking forward to seeing these figures finished. This is a line that may grab some kids and actually get them playing with action figures again. I'm pretty sure my Brock figure will be slapping the crap outta 21 and 24 on my desk, at some point.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

The extra angles on the Brock headsculpt look a lot better than the single front shot we've already seen. It needs a lot less work than I would've thought. Glad to hear they're working on the body, too. Losing articulation by using Hulk pieces felt like a wrong step to me. Longer legs and muscle arms on a hulk torso would've given him the extra 1/2 inch he needs to tower over everyone.

Looking forward to the final product. I'm glad I've missed all the online meltdowns about the decision to finally get Venture toys, and what do they do? They put it in that crappy MEGO FORMAAAAAAAAAT!!!1!

Now they feel our pain over the lack of 8" scale toys for the last two decades.

It's great to hear pre-orders have been going well. I want to see the entire Venture-verse in this style.

Excellent interview! Glad to hear that the Brock figure will be revisited (and I shall say no more on that front. )

Very glad to hear Flash Gordon mentioned in there a few times (even though it was a Venture-centric interview). Bless Mr. Lenzi for being such a huge fan of the film and for showing the property so much love.

So when do we get details on wave 2???? Fingers crossed for Dale, Baron, Klytus and Vultan!

Thank you for the kind words. I'm proud of my business partner Jason Lenzi. As for wave 2 - we can't even discuss more characters until there is a strong pre-order response to wave 1. So please, vote with your pre-orders today if possible (companies like Entertainment Earth will not charge your credit card until the items actually ship).

Do you know if any Canadian retailers will be picking these up? I hate having to order through the US unless I have to !?

                        Great article.
I've never seen Venture Bros, so I'm gonna pass on this line, but I take it anything said about VB goes for the other lines as well?
Which means, this is very good news:
Pre-orders have been amazing so far, and several major retailers want all of our lines.
This however doesn't excite me all that much, far from it really
We're thinking of variant figures all of the time, with new sculpts and outfits, and are talking about possible retailer exclusives as well. At this stage 21 and 24 will possibly be retailer exclusives.
Variants are OK, but too many will kill the line.
And why oh why have exclusives? I hate exclusives. Scalpers will have a field day charging serious collectors twice what they're worth. And some people will be left out because of that. Exclusives are not a good idea IMO.

Agree 100%. I think variants and exclusives have had their day anyway, and seem to do more harm than good these days! I dont mind dealers exclusives...provided they produce enough that they arent hard to get.

Our Comic-Con exclusives are really more like product debuts. Anyone may pre-order these exclusives before Comic-Con, and they will ship to you after Comic-Con. Because the quantities are indeed limited, pre-ordering before the event is the sure-fire way to get yours.
