    Good read.

I think an Alien action figure series would have bombed considering the movie was released with an R rating in the United States and X in the United Kingdom.

I never saw the Logan's Run TV show but a robot-armed Mego would have been pretty cool. And those Star Wars-y looking Alien figures! In some early '80s alternate universe I'm playing with those right now.

Thundar would have been a great line to see. Actually, I wish a few of the fun HB cartoons of my childhood would have made it as action figures when I could have actually played with them. Space Ghost, the Herculoids, Johhny Quest, among others would have been a welcome sight in my youth.

When the original TV movie aired, kids across America began emulating the character's unique swimming style (and subsequently drowning).

Man From Atlantis--- Heh. I used to watch that show. I always thought it was an Aquaman rip off though. Thundar was too cool as well. They need to release those on DVD. I have the figures that came out later--- They're pretty cool.

I remember a 13 inch Alien figure with metal snapping teeth. It scared the hell out of me as a child.

Really good article. I wish MEGO would have made Thundar the Barbarian. I was addicted to that show
