The Mystery Black Batman Head from Mexico

BATMAN MEGO LILI LEDY BOOTLEG MEXICO 70,S on eBay.ca (item 260553053956 end time 21-Feb-10 20:00:38 EST)

    Is this a match?

It says 70s but I don't really imagine they would have made any Black Batman figures until '89.

Looks like someone painted a Lili Ledy head and customized it post-Keaton Batman movie.

        Yeah, who knows fersure.

My guess is falling in line with what has been said already in this thread. Basically a knockoff Ledy head painted to match the more modern trends. I have seen a couple knockoff Ledy Batman figures that are more of the vintage era, and they have blue capes. I'll post a pic of one that is on its way to me as I type.

That cape isn't real, is it?

I have a black Mego Bendy Batman and I've seen knock off Thundercats with that spectacular body so it's believable.

Reminds me a little of that Captain Kirk knockoff on http://www.foreignmego.com/mexico.html

Oh yeah, the same body as the Kirk and all the rest of those knockoffs.

Ugly as all heck. Darn tootin'!

That is a bootleg big time.
Not sure if anyone is familiar how toys are made in mexico. It's not like here in the states.
If you know someone that has access to molds then you can easily turn a profit but making bootleg toys for kids and sell them at bodegas or street markets.
It's always been this way. You can drive to Tijuana and pick up a bunch of bootleg dolls of current dolls being made but as for Mego bootlegs, those are hit or miss since they are a deceased line in Mexico and only those of the older generation tend to boot these dolls.
When I lived in Mexico for a year when I was ten, it was cool seeing all these bootleg dolls, heck even the star wars figures were being booted and they turned out ugly but kids bought them. It's a whole different culture down there especially with poverty being rampant. Kids can't be choosey unless they come from a well off family.
I agree, that is one ugly doll.
