New Trek Line - Vina Question

I REALLY wish I could have taken a picture of the new Trek figures because I swear the female figure paired with Christopher Pike was green and labled Vina.

I'm not enough of a Trek fan to know the name, so I assumed it was Marta, the green-skinned woman played by Yvonne Craig. When I posted it was Marta, Doc Mego did confirm it was Vina and not Marta. But why was she green? I remember thinking the sculpt was kind of generic. Almost like they did the simple Mego trick of simply using a different color on an existing sculpt.

Would there be a reason to make Vina green?

I really can't wait for the pics to make their out.

She was an Orion slave woman to Pike in The Menagerie.

But Thomas said she was also the blonde who we saw throughout. Did she appear differently to satisfy his fantasies? And how long was she shown in her green form? I thought she was in her blonde form through most of the episode.

She appeared in different induced fantasies (by the Talosians) in different forms, but was mostly seen as the blonde.

The more scantily clad green version sells much better.

Actually, it was in the pilot The Cage, but eventually also in The Menagerie

Vina is more iconic. Marta was in one episode. Vina was in the Cage pilot, The Menagerie 2 parter and shown in her Orion Slave Girl form in the end credits of just about every episode.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I do remember that end credit still now that you mention it. But again, why not make her in the blonde form? If I remember correctly, she spent the large majority of the episode as a blonde. (But I will say Yvonne Craig is much more strongly burned in my memory. RRRR!)

Because her Slave Girl form is just more iconic. When people think of Orion Slave Girls, the image most have in their mind is without a doubt green Vina dancing for Pike. The constant exposure in Trek credits obviously played a big hand in this. It's a striking image.

When Playmates and Art Asylum/DST made Slave Girl figures, they made Vina.

I have no doubts we will see him eventually too. Not the Mego version tho, the series correct Talosian

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but did they show what kind of Phaser Pike came with? Is there a new sculpt?

I think of those end credits when Trek mentioned Orions, so Vina seems to be the go to choice for that, also she makes a good companion piece for Pike when they release, since they were doing crew with an Alien.
                              It's all good!
