So do I!
I backtracked from Chris's link and found pics of new JLU figures, including a sweet Brainiac, Firestorm and a new Superman with the bottled city of Kandor. Oh, and new Red Sox baseball players from McFarlane.
I guess I should start saving and making room now.

Thanks for the link, Chris!
That Batman cowl reminds me of the plastic one that came out in the 1960s.

Black Manta is just phenomenal! Overall Wave 2 is excellent. Today has been like a dream.Leave a comment:

That Two Face head sculpt is very solid. He may be the gem in this wave. With respect to Batman and Aquaman - I want to see how the protos progress into the final product. I think MIB41's take on the Aquaman head sculpt is consistent with mine - something a little plain about that interpretation of him. I'm sure he is a tough figure to capture, but not much character there. Black Manta's head sculpt looks good.Leave a comment:

That pic just raised more questions on Bats. Any close up detail shots of Bats and Bruce would be welcomed. Hopefully the cowl will fit better than that...? He looks like his face is melting... Black Manta and Two-Face look good. I like Aquaman's outfit, but his face is very vanilla. That does not look like any hairdo I have ever seen Aquaman have. Looks like a Dick Grayson with Blonde hair. But with regards to Batman PLEASE Mattel PLEASE... don't make a cowl that doesn't fit the head like Hasbro did with their attempt.Last edited by MIB41; Feb 14, '10, 7:24 PM.Leave a comment:

OK....seeing the close-ups, I'm more sold on Two-Face. A suggestion for him though if possible would be to have a pattern on one side of his suit (usually it's the "scarred" side). At first I thought he might be the peg-warmer of the group but that headsculpt is growing on me real quick....Reminds me of Irv Novick artwork.I don't think anyone posted this link here. Some better pics.

I like the Batman sculpt. It does look like it may be a cowl, because you can see the neck under the cowl area it seems. Very Super Friends-like.
Two-Face is dead-on the classic comic interpretation.
The removable cowl on Batman would look better I think if the cape closes tighter around the neck, otherwise you see that patch of flesh peaking through.
Aquaman I'm still not sold on the glove-cuffs...Leave a comment:

Having just seen the pics, I am completely excited about these Mego like Retro Action figures. Batman is the coolest of them all. The cowl's ears are a little longer and there are white slits and no eyeballs thank God and Greyhound. All I will need is a pair of the blue shorts from Dr. Mego to give him the SuperFriends and Filmation look. Batman will definitely be one of my first purchases. Two Face looks good, though I will say he was the one I least expected to see. I was hoping for Joker, or Riddler or Scarecrow for the Legion of Doom. But I like how they designed Big Bad Harv and will definitely get him.
I'm excited to see a better designed Aquaman and we're finally getting Black Manta. I can't wait to get these Retro Figures already!
And it's nice to know that Wonder Woman is planned and being worked on. Hopefully, we'll see the Cheetah as well.
For the next wave, I hope we get the Flash and Captain Cold, and down the road, I'm really hoping to see Robin, Hawkman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Bizarro, Brainiac, The Toyman, Plastic Man, The Atom, Giganta, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, and Captain Marvel just to name a few.
The only thing odd to me was the head design for Bruce Wayne. It looked a little weird, or I just need to see a better picture.
Cheers.Leave a comment:

Heck, I'm just happy that they are continuing the line, but my take on the selections...
Aquaman - I'm glad they're showing him the love, and I think this is probably the best improvement figure so far. Molded "A" belt and scales, FTW! Non-pointy ears, thanks.
Black Manta - the logical choice, and this one seems good enough. hopefully a cool Trident will come with him. Besides the head, I never was overly impressed with the look of the character, but it will be nice to have a rotocast version for the masses.
Two-Face - I actually really like this choice, since we already have a thorough compliment of original villians in our collections. The only one I'd like to see redone fairly early is Catwoman, so Bravo to Mattel for this choice. He will proudly enjoy a prominent place in my display. Execution seems fine from what I can tell from the limited picture quality. Guessing a coin will accompany, dime sized would seem about right (out of scale but fitting in his hand with clarity).
Batman - Natural Wave 2 selection, and looks better than the original from what I can tell, although I want to see a better pic of Bruce's head, I really hope its not as flat as the original. I personally would have preferred a Molded cowl, but at least this one is more comic accurate and hopefully looks less like a Halloween costume. The cape looks longer, although I'd prefer scallops (and cloth but didn't expect it). Since the figure is so easy to get, like others I guess I just wished for something a bit different, but I'm happy overall.
As a whole wave, I'd put this very promising, although not quite as exciting as wave 1 for me.Leave a comment:

They should stand Superman back up!
I like the Bruce Wayne face! Not bad- I think I can agree with points everyone here has posted. Hopefully the problem with the body will be fixed. But it is great these are being made! Unlike most of you guys I'm older and did not buy the WGSH when they were in the stores. I was lucky enough to have Captain Action, Action Boy and the painted haired GI JOES! I was used to the larger figures. I saw Superman at Kresgees and walked around the store with him contemplating if I should by him or not. I wanted to, but he was so small compared to my 12-inch Captain Action Superman I could not justify spending the $4 or $5 on him! Now of course I feel much differently about it. I wish i had gotten him!
These new WGSH won't be around for long. Lets enjoy them while we can, I can't wait to actually see them at TRU!Leave a comment:

Like I said!! He needed a lead box for the Kryptonite Lex has!!! Now he's dead. I told you so!
I was supporting this line hoping Marvel and Hasbro would take a hint and make Marvel figures. If this line bombs, we probably won't see Hasbro make any...
