Just got back from the toy show

Just walked in the door after returning from the Zoloworld Toy show. What a blast! I had a great time. I didn't sell too much (thank god!) but I did manage to sell just enough to cover my vendor fee, gas to and from the show and the food I ate during the day. And the stuff I sold was all ticky tack stuff that I didn't want anymore. Plus I made some little girl's day when I gave her 3 playdough playsets. She was looking at them forlornly and I told her just to take them. The smile on her face lit up the room (it was a BIG room) and made the entire day worthwhile.

The real highlight of the day was meeting and chatting with fellow Museum members. I met about 6 or 7. I think I got a little taste of what Mego Meet must be like. My 18 year old son was with and he thought it was VERY cool that we have a place like this to share and get to meet each other at events. supes was selling two tables over from me and my son got to chat with him a few times. His comment to me was "yeah, it's pretty cool Pops, I mention your name and they know you!" I missed the photo op though with supes and jwiz154. You'll probably see their photo on Mike's site.

Speaking of Mike, this guy is indefatigable! He was literally running around like a chicken with his head cut off. He pulled off a great show and deserves some props. Looking forward to the next one. And his wife is a real sweetheart. Must be nice to have a wife who devotes so much energy to the hobby.

Some of the others I met were Maureen (z3zep), John (Wildstar), Paul (Paulstoyroom) and a couple more. My brain is mush right now and I need a hot shower and nap.

Anyway, it was great to meet everyone and I hope to see them soon at another show.

That does sound cool. All they have in LA anymore are the stupid Fangoria shows (which get lamer every year). Thank God for SDCC. Too bad it's only once a year. I really miss walking around toy and model kit shows. Vibe is kinda different now...

Yes, it was a fantastic day. I enjoyed talking to a bunch of the members also. Maureen, I'm sorry I missed you. Would've liked to say "hello". I was also talking to fellow members tinkerbeee, supes and of course Zorro. Mike did an unbelievable job. But I do have to say, that's not his wife.......yet!

Anybody that showed up that we didn't mention, let us know what you thought of the show. I also want to see if anybody tells about the funny story between supes and Paulstoyroom. I'll let one of them do it.

Again Mike, just an outstanding job!!!

Had a great time at the show! Was able to make money and not spend any, which was good.

Had a great time meeting and talking with my fellow museum members, we will have to arrange a gathering sometime in the future.

The funny story between me and Paulstoyroom is actually a great one. Mutliple times during the day Jerry had mentioned about Paulstoyroom being set up in the front, and that I should check out his booth. Unfortunatly I was unable to leave booth because It was just me and my 14 1/2 year old. Well about 3:30 I notice someone talking with megoapesnut, who was set up 2tables away. I look closer at the same time this guys look at me... And come to realize that Paulstoyroom is actually my good friend Paul who I had lost contact with a very long time ago! It was really great to catch up with him about his family and my Goddaughter. So thanks to the Museum and Zorro's toy show we can really catch up on old times.

                It was really cool.

                For the love of Mego's

Wow, You guys got here fast.
Jwiz154 & Supes beat me to writing the story. Just seeing Supes after 17 years was worth being there! Cyndi can't wait to meet with you and Ms. Supes!
I want to thank Mike for giving me the chance to experience this great event, and to meet some of the other site members.
Picked up a great Ironman from Supes, Thanks he is awesome, my son Joey says "oh my god, dad, you and you Mego's!"
                  Hope to see everyone soon.

It was a great show. The first One I've been too in years. The show had a nice supply of Mego figures in all grades. Some of the new go-hero figures were on display and looked incredible. It was fun chatting it up with the guys from here.
I was only there for about an hour because I bought my 4 year old daughter and she was terrified of the coostumed Star Wars people walking around. She had me in a death grip and wouldn't let me put her down.
John, too bad you couldn't make it, I was looking for you.

And the best news is that nobody got any pictures of me! Woo Hoo! I hate having my picture taken. That's why I became a photographer, to be on the other side of the lens!
