    Can I get a little clarification?

    I've been reading over these forums tonight, trying to get a handle on what to expect from the Venture Brothers line, and I've actually been left with more questions than I started with.

    Who is Dr. Mego? Is he related to the original Mego company?

    Does Cast-Away-Toys have their own Mego body mold or do they use Dr. Mego's? Can anyone seemingly start their own Mego company and sell toys with that body or are all these Mego companies somehow related?

    What happened to Charlie Flatt?

    Will Bif Bag Pow! be using the Cast-Away-Toys body that has the added shoulder swivel articulation and grasping hands?

    Did Mattel create their own body mold or is it a preexisting mold? There seem to be a lot of complaints about the legs, will these problems be fixed? Will they affect anything BBP does?

        I saw a photo of BBP's Flash Gordon prototype that appeared to have swivel shoulders. Do Dr. Mego's bodies have those as well or was that proto using a Cast-Away-Toys body?

          ^ There was a Flash Gordon prototype originally done for BBP by Castaway...Since then they've gone with EMCE so I'm sure there will be a new prototype without the swivel biceps.

            That's disappointing. The swivel shoulder adds a lot to the play value. Is there any hope for an updated body by the time Venture Brothers hit?

              It may add some for some people but for someone like myself who still has to use original mego bodies on customs i think the swivel changed the doll and no longer made it a mego.

                But they're not Megos. They're being made by Bif Bang Pow!. I don't think they should refrain from improving the figures just because of an association with the Mego name.

                Who owns the Mego name?

                  The Mego name is owned by former Mego Corporation president Marty Abrams,
                  who holds all the intellectual property of MEGO. EMCE Toys has an agreement
                  with him to be the new generation of megos.

                  EMCE Toys is Joe Sena and Paul "Dr.Mego" Clarke.

                  EMCE Toys has a lot of plans in the works for 2010 and beyond with Mr. Abrams
                  and our partners Diamond Select Toys, Mattel, and BBP. We will make our plans
                  public at the right time.
