    Allison and Dorothy

Here's something I wish could happen more often. My 3 (nearly 4) year old granddaughter Allison came over today and I got to give her a still sealed mailer box Dorothy. She loves the Wizard of Oz and all ready has a full set of beater dolls and a Munchkinland playset, but she wanted a Dorothy with socks and shoes like her grandmom has. I was super lucky and picked up a bunch of these and got to give her the first one to open today.

Grandmom and Allison played Munchkinland all morning!

Awesome! Normally I would be horrified about a vintage figure being opened, but this is a reason so good that I applaud it! Great photos, especially the 3rd one. So minty and such happiness.

It took a second for my heart to start back up when I saw a mailer box being opened, but for that little cutie, I can see why you did it.

        Great pics.

Seeing that box being ripped open actually warms my heart. I mean that's why these were made right? To be loved and played with by a child.

Many times I think about all those MIB toys... while some might see them as collectibles, I tend to look at them like lost dreams. When I know that there were children out there who would have loved them, if only they could have gotten them. But, they sat on some shelf in the back of an old warehouse for years and years...

My nephew just had his first birthday a month ago, and since I don't have any children of my own, I intend to fill his world with Megos. I've already started buying some stuff up and fixing a set up for him.

Amen Hap! Those pics are simply precious! I find it ironic that a lot of us try and recapture our youth by collecting toys only to leave them sit in the packages like in the back of an old warehouse. Toys were meant to be played w/ and enjoyed by children (or us overgrown kids!) One of the saddest things to me is a toy breaking in its packages from lack of use. I'm glad Allison will be able to love Dorothy and play w/ her for years to come.

Brilliant! Nice to see a toy being appreciated in the way it was originally intended to be! Kudos to you for giving the gift of vintage fun!

I have to admit if it was the only one I had gotten that would have been amazingly hard to do but I found a deal on a full case of them so it was pretty much a given that she would get to have at least one. I'm putting another one away for her to get when shes much older and can be thrilled again to have a toy she liked when she was young.
