    RE RC Batman Restoration

    Hi

Not long ago I got a broken RC Batman from eBay recently and tried my best to restore him

The trick was that I replaced the broken type one body that has not been strung up with a whole type one body in great condition and took off a naked Aquaman figure removed the head and put in Bruce Wayne head. I made sure to match the type one body model to ensure it is correct.

The costume had some issues and the suit also looked a bit shabby. I tried my best to fix it up. There was a hole under the crotch of the stirrup pants that I attempted to sew myself. I am still not satisfied with the results of the stirrup pants. It looked wrong to me some how towards the tunic area of the suit. I am considering finding another one.

I wonder if there is a member on this site who is experienced with sewing costumes that can help me out with this suit issue?

The RC cowl helmet is in unbelievably perfect condition. There is no chew marks all over. It was a bit dirty and it had a good cleaning. It looks brand new.

The belt which I think have a broken attachment part and thinks might need a replacement. Any one out there have a spare belt or to tell me how I can fix up the belt? I am still unsure about the repro debate because I don't want to lose value towards the figure further more.

The boots took ages getting it on the figure with the clothing. It was rather tight But finally I did it. The gloves was not a problem. I also am not sure about the cape if it belongs to RC Batman. I could not identify the cape color in the MEGO World Greatest Toy reference book yet.

The head is also in great condition apart from a very tiny paint rub on the back of his head. I need to find a emblem for this figure. I have been trying to reach a member who deals with the emblem replicas and had no luck.

Hope the pictures works for you to view towards the half way finished results of a RC Batman!

The figure is now placed on a shelf getting to know the others surrounding him.

If the photos does not work on this wall. Just check out my gallery for the photos. I need a crash tutorial on how to do photo attachments on this site. It is a bit tricky for me at moment.

    Cheers

That's the one you snagged for $40 right? And from what you are saying, it sounds like rare skinny boots. Double score. Those are hard to find. I would not try to attempt to put those boots on a footed suit. The key to putting those boots on and pay attention everyone, is to slide the toes in the downward position, then slightly depress the heel befor the toes reach the bottom. (They get hung up in the heel and excessive force there after result in a crushed heel) By depressing the heel, you will force the foot to slide in at an angle and will clear the heel. It will still be rather difficult but it will go on without damaging the boot.
