    Getting back into this.

I have only been on these forums for a bit, but I am getting hooked.

I'm 46 and remember fondly having virtually all of the WGSH back when they came out originally.
I remember my mother and I shopping at a Kresge back in 72 or 73 and seeing the solid box Megos and wondering how they looked exactly. Even then, I knew packaging and illustrations only went so far. Soon after came the see through boxes and I wound up getting a few.
Even then, the "oven mits" bothered the hell out of me. But it was so cool watching "Super Friends" on Saturday mornings and having the actual figures to play with.
As the 70s went on, I still collected the Super Hero Megos, as well as the Planet of the Apes ones. I had many cross-over adventures with them.
I think I got the wave of the Falcon and Iron Man when soon after my interest started to lessen.
Ahhh puberty and girls were right around the corner.
I still went into toy stores and noticed the new waves of the Fantastic Four and Thor, but felt oddly out of touch and never got any of them.
As I discovered this website, I actually found some of my saved Megos. I saved the more common ones, like Spiderman, Hulk, and molded cowl Batman.
I have since gotten some new to me ones off of Ebay, including a RC Batman, which I can't even remember having back then, maybe I did.
Getting back into this is great fun, bringing back so many warm memories.
    But, damn, it's expensive!
One thing that really strikes me is how small these 8" figures seem now compared to then, but I guess that's natural. Kind of like going back to an old school and it seems shrunk.
At least now, thanks to Classic Plastik, I have the opportunity for some real gloves for my Batman and Robin, leaving those "oven mits" tucked behind them in their utility belts!

              Hi there,
I'm actually a fan of the oven mitt, but I think that is just because that is what I grew up with. The hobby can be expensive, but the Megos aren't going anywhere. There is plenty of time to buy. In the meantime, welcome
              It's all good!

Megos are more addictive than any drug
They oughta put a warning on the homepage of the Museum
