    Displaying you megos

    HI

I have 15 of the 8" megos and the retro green arrow. All are in acrilic cases that stand up.

My question is how you you guys display them? I only have 15 of them and already they nearly fill the back of my converted dining room hutch.

Any ideas or what you found that works?

They're in my glass display case. Most of them are loose, and in "action poses".
Carded ones are in the back.
They may catch some dust or light, but I want them close and in sight.
You just cannot trust that Green Goblin, I tell you....

I know that I could keep them "preserved" a lot better, but the way I see it: I've enjoyed them for thirty years now. If they last another thirty, I had a lot of fun, and I don't intend to ever sell them.

One thing I've done with loose figures is kind of a "stair" approach. I had pieces of 3"X1" wood cut to match the width of my shelves. Each only cover about a quarter of the shelves depth. I then laid 3 pieces on the shelf, flush to the back, creating a raised portion on the back 3/4 of the shelf. The I laid 2 pieces on top of that and the final piece on the those two, all flush to the rear of the shelf. This ulitmately created a layered or stair-like effect. This allows my figures to be displayed in close quarters without losing the back row completely.

Oh, you know, I just keep them in little piles under the couch like I did as a kid.

I just purchased a bunch of superclams from castaway and am about to display them like they should be. Right now they are on a bookshelf but well taken care of.

I have lots on display on shelves, some packed away safe from my young nephews and lots hanging around all over the place just to play with.

IKEA has Billy bookcases with glass doors to get the dust out.

I found that over time, costumes collect dust and don't look as sharp.

Now that I have a 2 year old, I bought refrigerator child locks to keep
my son Eddie from getting to my Batcopter. He sits in front of the
                  case and stares at it.

I don't have much room, just the one glass case, so I swap things around, keeps things interesting.

I have a pile of old store fixtures mingled in with JSYK stuff. I wish I had more room for playsets but such is life.

I have pretty limited space right now, and there are shelves for books and toys everywhere they can possibly fit. Our main shelves in the den are for DC Direct and my WGSH. In the small back room, we have stacks of longboxes everywhere, and containers of toys that there's no room to display. There are shelves lining the walls, one of which is reserved for Dinah Mites and the other assorted Megos that aren't in the den. All of my Megos are loose and currently standing like they're posing for a group shot, with related characters close to one another. I'd like to do the tiered approach like Wee described, once I have time to work on it.

Here's a pic of the tiered look inside an Ikea Billy shelf. They're Marvel Legends, but you can see how you can fit a bunch ibnto a small space.
