    Kurt Cobain

I heard Kurt Cobain was a doll collector.
    Possibly Mego dolls?
    Would like to know.

I thought this was about someone who made a Cobain Mego; that would be awesome! I love Nirvana and just think how great they really could've been, not that they weren't already great. Of course the loss of Kurt at such a young age is so sad; he had so much more to offer.

I've heard Rob Zombie collected POTA Mego figures, they even get mentioned in one of his movies.

Apparently Cobain was a pack rat. He kept everything, even the toys he'd had as a kid. He wasn't a collector like most of us, though. He would make models and art projects out of dolls and other junk he collected. In the book Unseen Cobain, there pics with what I think is a bendy Batman and also an MIB Shaun Cassidy doll that he had given to Tracey Marander as a present. He had written all over the box.

Yeah, House of 1000 Corpses where Captain Spaulding made mention of a Dr. Zaius doll. Didn't say the work Mego, but the movie is set in the 70's so there was only one game in town. What happened to the Mego doll I won't mention.

What do you consider your geekiest possession?
I have a lot of weird crap. For some reason, I never threw anything away as a kid, and I was really meticulous about saving everything in perfect condition. So if I bought an album in 1972, it still has the shrink wrap on it and it’s still in mint condition. Even magazines. If a magazine came out in 1977 featuring Star Wars, I bought it and it looks like I bought it today. Any kind of Star Trek Mego action figures that are still in the garage somewhere — I don’t really want ‘em, I just don’t know what to do with ‘em.
I'm sure there are many folks here willing to take those original Trek Megos off of Mr Zombie's hands!

If I'm not mistaken, Cobain collected bizarre antique baby dolls.

Yeah Cobain had a thing for weird baby dolls, I remember seeing them strewn about somewhere, maybe Rolling Stone. He wasn't much of a collector as a pack rat, it was all over the floor.

A few years back somebody sold some loose Mego stuff and claimed they bought it at Rob Zombie's mom's garage sale. So he may no longer have that stuff.
