I would like to kick off 2010 with something a little bit better then my usual monthly "Auction Watch Contests" this year I am going to give my RAFFLE idea a shot and see how it works and if you guys think it's good enough to get involved....
Ok so here is what I had in mind, on February 1st. I am going to post an item in the "General Buzz" section, they will normally be high end collectibles that all members both local and international will be able to purchase an entry ticket to (no limit as to how many times you enter) and the raffle entry will be based on the value of the piece in question.
Here is an example (and actually the first piece I am going to put up in February) I have a 2004 limited to 100 pcs. Canvas by Alex Ross titled Mythology: Good vs. Evil, this piece was made available to me when Clampett Studios held a private sale of their items to DC employees a few years back. This piece retailed back then for $1800 and comes with a certificate of Authenticity. (check their site Clampett Studio Collections)
An entry raffle ticket for this piece will be $20.00 made payable to [email protected] (personal tab please) now when I say ticket as you make a payment you pm me and I will post your user name on the thread as an entry, but in order for this to come to life I will need at least 25 entries by the end of the month 25x $20 = $500.00 (way less then I paid or the piece is worth) The money will be held in my paypal account until the contest is over and refunded ASAP if we don't get at least 25 members to participate!
I was also thinking of the best way to make all comfortable with how the name was chosen, the best thing I could think of was a video of all the names being put in a hat and I will pick and post it for all to see!
Anyone who has enjoyed my previous contests knows I am more then generous with my prizes so if your new feel free to ask other members about me or those who have dealt with me please feel free to post it on this thread!
I am just running this by you guys to get an idea of who will be interested and will post pics of the canvas this weekend, it is huge and beautiful and I can only imagine how nice it will be when it's framed and hung!
Thanks all....
Anthony~
