basa superman

tonight i went to meet a mm member on a mego sale and took the basa superman to show him . originally i thought the emblem might be fake but im not sure now . it might be an original basa emblem . its a cloth emblem like his cape. the boots i believe could also be basa . his belt is homemade . does anybody have a basa figure with an original emblem i can compare my supermans emblem too ? rudy ? thomas ?

Yeah, I remember seeing pics in that thread (but I forget where it is). Doesn't Rudy's Basa Supes have at least some of it's original emblem, according to those pics (if memory serves)?

Those pics are in the Basa Supes thread in auction watch. Mine doesn't have an emblem anymore, Rudy's does, don't know if it's original

Its funny,buy the only thing appealing to me about this figure is the head.Its a different head sculpt then any other mego/mego inspired superman

After looking at the boots and checking against some beat up originals I had I think the boots are original. They're obviously too old to be repro's of any kind and they seem to be a little different in plastic than the one's I have. They feel "cheaper" than Mego boots but look identical. The emblem looks very old, it's kinda thick too. It's not so much the look of the emblem but the fact that it looks like it's been on there for so long. While the repro emblems we have today are a million times better than this one, it just looks so old I wonder if it's not original. It definately looks like it was printed and since it hasn't faded out it looks like it was done with more than just a standard printer from years back. The basa supes I've seen have all been naked so there really isn't a comparison until a picture of a clothed one with even a small portion of the emblem intact is found. Even a comparison to another emblem from another basa character would be informitive as they should have been created using the same process. The hunt for answers begins!

thomas what does your basa have just the head and body or any accessories ? i do remember not bidding on yours but i cant promise that on the next one.
