I pieced together most of mine. At first, I wanted to get more figures, so I'm take the money I had to blow and buy 2 incomplete figures instead of one complete. Once I had most of the figures, I turned my attention to making them all original. It was like building my collection twice.

None personally. But I'm sure plenty I've bought were Frankenmegos. That reminds me, I bought a T1 Frankenstein many years ago and it was strung with an old hair barret when I got it.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I picked up a mint Iron Man with a beautiful suit and flawless head, I have since added mint boots, gloves and a belt all I need is an original button and that baby is done!

Aquaman and Supergirl are my next piece projects!

Thor was a biggie for me. First, a nice helmet with nice chrome then finding the hammer was alot of fun. I just completed a Conan and added to Kid Flash. Most of my stuff also is pieced together.

A lot of mine were pieced together in the early days. I remember paying a crazy amount for a Davy Crockett hat...then the replicas got brought out soon after...

I like to piece them together whenever I can. I've bought alot of complete figures because it is more cost effective, but when you bring one back from the grave it's satisfying. I have many Batmans and Robins that have a new lease on life. They are the easiest to piece together. Thor is tough because his helmet and hammer can be most of his value. Isn't this our job as Mego collectors anyway? We take what we destroyed as kids and put them back to how they sould be. FUN!

The only figures I bought complete, way back when ebay started, are :

Batman and Superman from the same seller. The seller didn't have a pic of the figures in both auctions I won...to my surprise I get both figures and they have the bubbles and cards with them in the package. These were fresh off the card figures. Price...a whopping $20 shipped I think I still have the backer cards somewhere. They were absolutely hammered

Wondergirl...won here in a lot with the Mystery Astronaut
Romulan...won that one from a member of the Museum in an ebay auction.
Forgot...Alter Ego Bruce Wayne. Found him in a lot of figures on Ebay.

Everything else was piece by piece. Complete Marvel, DC, POTA, Star Trek, Monsters, Robin Hood, Western, Space 1999. I would have said Pirates too...but I think I am missing one pistol for Lafitte. Not sure. Hardest and longest one figure took me was about 6 or 7 years...Speedy from the Teen Titans. That Damn HAT was a real ***** to find. Thanks to our own Luey (Greg) I finally got a hat to complete him. BTW, that's one of the reasons you should all attend Megomeet. That's where I got my hat. Now if I can only find a Parker Head and Clark Kent Glasses I'll have complete AE's

Save Conan and Invisible Girl, the rest of mine are piecemeal. It's funny, but this way I've ended up with a number of figures I never would have bought complete, such as Batgirl and Catwoman. I end with parts or the base and from there it all sort of falls together.

I do it with a lot of the more expensive figures.....it might cost more in the ong run but when funds are tight it is sometimes the only way I can afford to pick it up.....you know, 10 buck here, 20 there, is easier to come up with then 150 or more all at once

                            Whoo hoo.
Just done another - a two and a half year wait for some Catwoman boots....

Obviously there have been boots for sale but I have never found the need to spend $25 on some, so it was nice to snag an auction ending today for £2.50 ($4.00). Happy days
