    Weird Spider-man Shopping Mall Photo

You've seen the Mego Mall appearance photos Brian published here. They got a showing at Mall of America, one of our favorite blogs.

Their previous post on the subject http://mallsofamerica.blogspot.com/2...vettes-in.html
showed this amazing, awkward photograph. Whatever enthusiasm I had for superheroes, I don't know that I would've wanted to SIT on Spiderman's lap when I was 13...."What would you like for Spidey-day, little boy?"

Spidey as a ventriluquist. You can't even see his lips moving.

By 13, I had thrown out my toys and was pretending I had no interest whatsoever in Superhero's or anything of the like. You would have had to have held a gun to my head to get me to sit on Spidey's lap.

I was by no means cool at 13 but next to this, I was Dean Martin. How the kid in this picture didn't have this negative burned and every witness killed, I'll never know.

I think I would have rather assumed an action-y spiderman-esque pose next to an action-y posing Spidey than to sit on his lap. If I was 7, maybe I'd sit on Spidey's lap. But not at 13. I was a Ninja at 13, or at least I thought I was. KWEE-YA!

I bet that kid's thinking to himself "Why couldn't I be sitting on Wonder Woman's lap instead?" I know I would.

I would sit on his lap today.

I did it when I was 7, at Montgomery Ward in Ann Arbor (Arborland Mall), and I'd do it again at 37. It would allow me to live down the fact that Mall Spidey turned me into a nervous mute 30 years ago.

Yep, this time, I'd be sure to ask him to "please spin a web."

Just point me to the end of the line, and bring your camera.

If I'm lucky, I'll get a photo with Brian "Rat Pack" Heiler while I'm at it.

I probably wouldn't have, but I would have hugged up close to SuperGirl

I think it's hard for big kids, my cousin's son is 14 and 6'4", so he looks, and gets treated like a man often (and would've flattened Spidey even if he had wanted to sit on his lap).
