    Temtped by the Megarite

One of my long-term wanted pieces has been the Megarite from the STTMP small aliens set. I have all of the others, including a carded Betelgusian. I have been wanting a loose complete Megarite for years. The only loose ones that come up are missing the cape. And the carded ones are always 150 bucks. So there is one on eBay now with no cape for a $35.00 BIN. Do I buy this thing and make a repro cape just to complete the set, or continue the waiting game, hoping to find a prefect specimen. It is a major hole in the display case, his place on the platform has been waiting for years, and Zaranite and Aucturian really need him around to feel complete. What do i do? Have you ever had this conundrum?

I guess the question is would you be happy with him knowing he has a repro cape? If so, then take the BIN.

For me as soon as I settle on a lesser piece, the complete perfect one shows up on e-bay

so they are out there, you just have to be patient

Well you know as soon as you get him you'll want to upgrade. Thats part of the hobby. If hes the only one with a repro piece on him it might bug you.
Really what are teh odds of finding a loose cape?
BUT its a good "band Aid " in the meanwhile.
If you can spare the cash. . . .

Not exactly, 'cos I have no problem with repro parts. I've even ttraded off original parts 'cos I'd made a better custom one.

I'd get it quick..!! Once the nicer one comes, just buy that too, and sell this one.. $150 won't seem quite so expensive when you sell the other and make the $35.00 back..

You'll be HAPPY now, you'll be HAPPY later. Win-Win to me..

Thanks for the opinions guys, I think I will do it. I have no repro stuff at all in my display case, so I may just leave him 'naked' until I upgrade him. He actually looks fine without the cape if you didn't know he had one originally, not like a batman without a cape. My X-mas present to myself, one naked Megarite!
